National Statistical System

A national statistics system (NSS) is a coordinating framework within which the essential statistical data are produced and used for generating and monitoring development indicators. The national statistical system is a partnership among bodies which are responsible for policy formulation and implementation to facilitate and achieve production of relevant statistical data and related information.The NSS consists of data producers, users, suppliers, and research and training institutions. The objective of the NSS is to ensure continuous coordination and cooperation among producers and users of official statistics in order to produce and use quality statistical data in-terms of standardization, consistency, comparability.The national statistical system is a coordinating platform for the use and production of evidences as basis for policy formulation and decision making, and avoids duplication.
